Seeking an Education Leader (Head of Teaching)

OPPORTUNITY- EDUCATION LEADER IN A PROGRESSIVE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT

Reporting to the School Manager, the Head of Teaching champions Kinma’s Core and Guiding Principles  proactively lead, support and guide:

  • teaching staff and classroom practices across Preschool and Primary
  • the school community in their understanding of progressive education
  • a holistic approach that enables us to extend beyond the Australian curriculum through authentic, interdisciplinary learning design

We are seeking an innovative and collegial leader who can demonstrate:  

  • an understanding of, and ability to create a diverse range of learning situations that encourage, stimulate and support the development of each child's inherent array of intelligences
  • application of holistic and conceptual learning to let students play an active role in the quest for meaning
  • diverse and genuine relationship building based on cooperation, trust, and integrity
  • co-operative resolution skills free from coercive or manipulative approaches
  • ability to assess individual skills outside of a merit-based or competitive system
  • ability to coach, mentor and lead the teaching team, from day-to-day planning to career development planning
  • application of the latest findings in education, psychology, and related fields to the improvement of learning within the school, and the ability to share these with peers and parents
